ID Hole Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is ID Hole?

ID Hole is a website that provides users with the opportunity to save personal and/or business information such as, but not limited to, account numbers, usernames, passwords, and other identification information for online accounts and other personal and/or business accounts. This information is highly encoded and encrypted so that only the user can access it. Links to websites where users have accounts and contact information can be included for added convenience. All you need to remember is one password, username and encryption key to access all of your account information!

2. How does ID Hole keep my passwords and account information confidential?

Every ID Hole member will be assigned both a password and encryption key along with his/her username. The encryption key will be exactly eight (8) characters, numbers (0-9) and letters (A-Z). The encryption key must have at least one letter, at least one number, and at least one capital letter. The encryption key cannot be the same as the password.

3. What is an encryption key?

An encryption key is your personal key that you will need to remember in order to access your information. This key is used to encrypt your personal information that you enter into the site. This key is very important to keep in your head. If this password is lost, you will lose all of your information. You cannot reset your encryption key or have it sent to you because it would make the site and your information less secure. We do not have your encryption key. We do not store your encryption key. You should not share your encryption key with anyone.

4. Who will have access to my account information?

Only you will have access to your username, password, and encryption key, unless you share this information with someone else. ID Hole does not have access to any of this information. Therefore, we will not and cannot access your account information or content, or share it with anyone else.

5. Should I share my password or encryption key with anyone else?

ID Hole strongly recommends that users do not share their account information with anyone. However, please know that you are responsible for this information, therefore, if someone else does have access to it, you are fully liable.

6. Is my information safe?

Yes! Unlike most websites, ID Hole.com provides users with both a password and the encryption key to access it. Therefore, no one, including us, can access it.

7. What types of information can I put on my account?

Identification information (social security numbers, ID numbers, etc.), Account information (credit card account numbers, bank account numbers, email account usernames and passwords), Business account information (company website usernames and passwords).

8. What if I can't log in to my account?

You probably entered in your account information incorrectly. Make sure the username, password, and encryption key have been entered in accurately, including all upper and lower case letters and numbers. Also, make sure the Caps Lock key is turned off and the number lock key is turned on.

9. What happens if I forget my password or username?

You will need to click on the link that says "I forgot my username/password." You will be asked a couple of security questions that you answered when you created your account and you will need to enter in your encryption key. Your username or password will be sent to the email address you provided.

10. What happens if I forget my encryption key?

YOU MUST REMEMBER YOUR ENCRYPTION KEY! If you do not, you will lose access to your account permanently. ID Hole does not have access to your encryption key, only you do! The encryption key unlocks all of your account information. Therefore, if you forget it, you will only have the option of creating a new account.
